Stop Beating Yourself Up for
Feeling Unhappy
A lot of people think that they can’t be unhappy and grateful at the same time, but you can. Just because you’re grateful doesn’t mean you have to or should be happy.
Do you find yourself frequently saying “I shouldn’t feel this way. I have so much to be grateful for?”
If so, then you may be keeping the hurt inside and causing yourself unnecessary pain.
Establishing self trust is key to being able to be with the unhappy feelings

I have a process that will help you to be able to be with the hurt or pain and release it. This process has 3 parts, but they are very intertwined.
Part 1
Cut yourself a break. Be kind to yourself. Release the judgements you have about the feelings that you’re feeling, and release all the judgements you have about why you think you shouldn’t be feeling these feelings.
This is important because a lot of judgements will come up. Dismiss the judgements the best you can. Don’t try to validate them or invalidate them.
Part 2
When unhappy feelings come up, don’t try to talk yourself out of them. Just be with them. Don’t try to validate them or invalidate them. Just be with them.
Part 3
While you’re being with the feelings, take some deep breaths until the uncomfortableness or uncomfortable energy subsides. This may take several minutes.
