The Real Reason You Feel Exhausted

When dealing with being exhausted, most people probably think that the question to ask is “what can I do to not be depleted?”

While that’s an important question, there is another question that needs to come first.

And that question is “why am I depleted?” And the answer isn’t because I have too much to do or I don’t have time to take care of myself, etc.

The answer to the question comes down to self worth.

There are probably some judgements that come up before self worth like selfishness or entitlement, but the bottom card usually has something to do with self worth and unworthiness.

Just the awareness around this can help tremendously with not feeling exhausted because sometimes the tiredness isn’t all physical. It can be mental too. It can be the repeating stories or thoughts that you hear in your head.

So now that you have an idea of why you’re depleted, you can answer the question “what can I do to not be depleted?”

Some questions to ask

What are some things that you used to do that brought you joy that you are no longer doing?What was something that you did recently that was fun and exciting?What activity would you love to do that you don’t think you have time to do?

You can journal about these things and then come up with one or two to put in your schedule. You want to make sure that there are things in your schedule that fill you up and bring you joy. That way you’re always sure to fill yourself up.
