The Hidden Energy Sabotaging Your Success (And What to Do About It)
You train hard. You care deeply and you want to win. And when you do? It’s electric. But when things go wrong—when you miss the mark, fall short, or underperform—it’s not just disappointing. It hits something deeper.
Most high-achieving athletes don’t realize that the real struggle isn’t just in their performance—it’s in their internal world. If you’re constantly fighting feelings of “I’m not good enough” or “I have to prove myself,” then even your victories can feel hollow. The highs don’t last, and the lows feel unbearable. It’s not your talent that’s the problem. It’s the energy sabotaging your success—and you may not even know it's there.
You Can’t Outperform the Belief That You’re Going to Lose
If you’re living in the energy of “I’m going to mess this up,” “I always choke under pressure,” or “I never get it right,” then it doesn’t matter how many tools, tips, or strategies you use. Your nervous system and subconscious mind are already rehearsing failure. And that’s what you’ll return to—again and again—until the premise changes.
There is often a hidden energy sabotaging your success, and it’s not about effort or strategy. It’s about the fear, pressure, or deep-rooted unworthiness you’re carrying into every ride, every routine, every race. If that’s the lens you’re looking through, you’ll keep re-creating the same emotional crash—no matter how well things appear to be going on the surface.

What You Believe Becomes the Lens You Perform Through
The good news? You can change it. When you shift your internal state—your consciousness, your beliefs, your energy—you create a foundation that actually supports peak performance.
Athletes who perform consistently well don’t just have skills. They have presence, trust, and emotional stability. They’ve done the inner work.

You don’t need to be perfect to win. But you do need to feel safe being seen, making mistakes, and trusting yourself again. That starts with identifying and removing the unconscious energy sabotaging your success—and replacing it with something far more stable: self trust, groundedness, and ownership.
Exercise
Here’s something to do before your next training session or show:
Energy Check-In:
Sit quietly for a moment and ask: “What energy am I in right now?”
Don’t judge it. Just notice. Are you anxious? Doubting? Pressured?
Now ask yourself: “What do I want to come from instead?” (Confidence? Curiosity? Calm focus?)
Visualize yourself already living and competing from that energy.
Breathe into that version of you, and hold the feeling for at least 90 seconds.
This is more than mindset—it’s about shifting your whole nervous system into a new operating state. And when you do, you stop fueling the energy sabotaging your success—and start building a new, empowered baseline.
In Closing
You don’t need to keep white-knuckling your way to the top or hoping the next win will finally make you feel like you’re enough. The truth is, lasting success comes when you change your inner blueprint.
This isn’t something you need to shout from the rooftops. You can start quietly. Privately. Powerfully. Just know—if you’ve made it this far, it’s probably time to take the next step.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
